The pressure of exercise

The theme of How to Get off Your Butt and do Your Workout  is so common it must be a sticking point for a lot of us.
Why is it that books and articles about productivity and self-improvement so often use the example of getting to the gym, jogging or exercise as a goal proving self-discipline and success?

It got me thinking the following may be true:

  1. Many people resist and do not enjoy going for their workout.

  2. Yet, these people know getting exercise is important.

  3. Then they feel guilty, unsuccessful and even self-loathing because they do not exercise as they think they should.

  4. So they jump onto strategies and tactics with hopes to improve.

Not getting the exercise the body craves is one thing. But the mental and emotional fall out of feeling unsuccessful? That really sucks.
Maybe you relate.  Maybe this is you?

Well, no one feels great about themselves coming from a place of not good enough. It just can’t be done.

I say let’s take another approach. Whoo hoo!!!

  1. Let’s make a class that is so fun and pleasurable it is a highlight of your week.

  2. Let’s make a space where people know your name. A place so warm and welcoming you feel included and committed and you feel that for others.

  3. Lets make a practice where your fitness and conditioning needs are met, but also your mental, emotional and spiritual health are part of the package.

This is what happens at Born to Move.

Think about it. Moving around in a body is the primary thing every human does.  And we don’t get to live forever.
You might as well enjoy it.
